About Me...
I was born and raised in the Mid-Atlantic region of the United States, where I spent much of my youth playing just about every sport I could get involved with. They became an outlet for me to find my competitive nature, gain leadership skills, cultivate a strong work ethic, and find personal growth and development. I was always happiest on the ball field, where I found success through both individual growth and collaborative effort. Playing ball provided a sense of well-being, security, and positivity while living in a home brooding with conflict, my brother’s drug addiction, and divided parents. When the opportunity to go to college on a scholarship arose, I seized the opportunity.

After college, I entered a career in law enforcement, where I felt like I had found my path. I enjoyed building relationships within the community and providing people with a sense of safety and security. I loved the proactive nature of the job and working with my family in blue. Through each interaction, I learned what it meant to be humble, as we are all part of something so much larger than ourselves. Even the wrong turns turned out to be events that kept me safe from danger and allowed me to strategize more effective responses.

Unfortunately, at the age of 30, I was medically retired from the police department after being bitten by one of our K-9 units while on a barricade. Suddenly, I found myself trying to figure out what was next, just when I was hitting my stride and studying to become a sergeant. At the time, I was angry and resentful. The thought of finding a new career seemed hopeless.

For a few years, I found employment where I was able to still work with law enforcement. I taught entry-level courses, defensive tactics, and physical training to new recruits. I found myself again in a role where I was able to teach, motivate, and work with others to improve their outcomes. I enjoyed my time as an instructor, but life had some amazing adventures planned for me, and it was time to embrace a new life.

After getting married, I found myself in the Western part of the United States raising a family as a stay-at-home mom. I'll be honest, being a stay-at-home mom was harder than I could have ever imagined. However, the rewards of being able to watch my kids grow up and turn into some of the most amazing humans I know has been one of my greatest adventures. As they are getting older and life has thrown more than a few curveballs at me, I am thankful for the opportunity to re-imagine my life and get back to who I authentically am.

So, no matter where you are in your life, young or old, male, female, or somewhere in between, starting or stuck in your career, embarking on a health journey, starting or ending a relationship, we all need a little more than we can pull from ourselves sometimes. Life coaching can be a source of guidance and inspiration. Together, I want to help you envision the path for your story as your journey becomes your reality.
Lastly, I hold a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Campbell University, and I am a member of two internationally recognized honor societies: Pi Gamma Mu and Psi Chi.
